We were there on Friday night, about 6:00pm for dinner, feeling hopeful. Not so great. Just OK. If you like flavored chicken/shrimp pieces and lots of different sauces over the same type of meat(?) .Fried shrimp a little hard. I like shellfish so I'll talk about that. Crab legs were adolescent (not quite full size) and that was disappointing. Bay scallops at the grill looked like #2 pencil eraser heads when cooked. No steamed dumplings that I could find. Everything else just ok. Sushi was good. Staff was very nice. Refills good. Bathrooms worked. I'd go again just because I live in the county and there's no place else. Maybe better for kids than adults. But if you REALLY want authentic Japanese food you must try Fuji's in Madison Heights. Worth the drive! They serve beer/drinks there as well.

Our family loves to eat here. Great selection for everyone, plus we can get fresh items off the grill too. Our son loves salad and gets his fill; we all like the fish, the salmon, the shrimp-- it's great. We have had parties here too and had a great time. Nice service, helpful staff. We like the place!

Service at door was great. Waitress stunk. She was gone for almost 20 min. Food not bad. Have had much better and expected better. Will not go again. Especially since wait staff was loud, playing around, or non existent.

Just passing through on the way to Canada and decided to stay overnite in Port Huron Days Inn Motel. Took a ride 3/4 mile north to MB&G and was pleasantly surprised to find a first class Chinese buffet here in the middle of America. The place is rather large and although it was a Monday nite, there were still a fair number of folks chowing down. About 1/2 the patrons were severely obese which leads to all kinds of suppositions about the food and what we would look like if we lived close by. Dinner was under $10 for a huge array of tasty food from traditional stir fry to Mongolian BBQ. If you ask, there's NY steaks the cook will grill. By the time I found about the steak, I was already stuffed. They also had sushi. It's a great bargain for generous amounts of tasty food. Too bad we're just passing through. Ho hum, back to potatoes and gravy tomorrow...

I've been a fan of this restaurant since it opened. It is a family business, and that is reflected in the high level of service and quality. The prices are very reasonable for lunch or dinner. After entering, the diners are immediately seated, and drink orders placed. The servers are quiet, attentive and efficient. The salad bar is extensive and complete. There are usually 2 Chinese soups from which to choose, and 2 rice cookers for white & fried rice. There is a seafood bar, lots of vegetables, many chicken varieties both American and Chinese. At the back, is a nice variety of raw foods including vegetables, meats and seafood, along with crocks of spices and sauces to suit any palate. Just load up a plate and hand it to the chefs, and they will cook it to order on the hot Mongolian grill. Dessert is modest. There is a soft ice cream machine, and a selection of cakes and baked goods. All in all, the service is outstanding, the food is very good, and the price is great. I go there often, and will continue to do so.

Usually love this place. Today's trip left a bad taste in mine and my husband's mouths. Cashier was also the server. She asked if we wanted to leave a tip on the card before ringing us out. Don't like that idea. I always go to the grill area and that was the best part. Didn't notice it until I got back, but our table wasn't cleaned completely. There was a partially drunk cold cup of coffee in the middle of the table by the soy sauce. We never got refills, fortune cookies, or plates cleared from the table. The people behind us had all that happen. Makes me wonder if they tipped beforehand and if that's the only way to get good service there now.

Came here because my GPS accidentally sent me HERE instead of a BDs Mongolian BBQ. Thought we would make the best of it as it was supposed to be a going away event and we had gotten a bunch of the family/kids together (hungry teenagers go well with a all u can eat place). lol However, I'm NOT a buffet fan... Mongolian BBQ is about as close as I will come to a buffet. Still, I was going to bite the bullet if everyone else was satisfied. The place is reasonably priced and it was pretty empty when we came in, but the food was NOT very fresh. Granted, it was about 7:30 on a Sunday, so perhaps that had a lot to do with it but nothing looked fresh, the grilling station looked like a ghost town (minus the spices spilled all over), the "crab" looked like it could have bounced. I see other people have had much better times here so maybe it's hit or miss but late Sunday is A DEFINITE MISS. To their defense, the cashier was very friendly when I explained we were going to go elsewhere and gave the money back for the buffet without an issue. So if you do show up on an "off-day" you aren't stuck. It makes me wish I had liked what they were offering because they were nice... but there was no way.

I eat here at least once or twice a week and really enjoy it. The buffet area is always fresh when I go, (Wednesdays usually) and the wait staff are very attentive and fun. They will joke with you if you instigate it which always makes a dining experience more enjoyable. Big salad bar & delicious cakes, pastries & cheesecake for dessert! My favorite part is the grill. With a large selection of vegetables, meats, spices & sauces, you can create a delicious meal & watch it get cooked on the grill. Sometimes the cook will even flip the spatulas around while sautéing your ingredients! I also enjoy the sushi & the hot & sour soup is the best I've ever had! I recommend the Mongolian Buffet to any other foodies out there. Tell em Chris sent ya!

This is the Oriental Buffet place that is in the old K-Mart plaza on the north side of town. This is the restaurant that took over the location of the "Old Country Buffet" when that went out of business. I've been to the Mongolian Buffet & Grill 3 or 4 times now, and every time I've gone the food has always been good. This place would probably normally only rate a 3 out of 5 stars (which is still good), but the reason why "I" gave it 4 stars is because they seem to have a larger selection then "Chan's" (right up the street), and they also offer the Mongolian BBQ as part of your buffet (which Chan's doesn't have at all). Now, the Mongolian BBQ isn't as good as going to "BD's Mongolian BBQ" (they don't have quite as many spices and sauces to choose from), but considering that you are getting this along with all the other Chinese (and American) dishes that they offer, all for a price that is lower than what you would pay if you actually went to BD's (or to Chan's for that matter)... you really can't beat that. Don't get me wrong here... "Chan's Buffet" is just fine... but, when the two places are so close together... I'm going to pick the Mongolian Buffet & Grill every time for their selection. I used to really like the Chinese Buffet that was farther south down the street back behind the Rite-Aid. It was located in part of an old supermarket building (was it an old A & P???). I felt like that place had the best tasting Chinese food at the time, but now that it's gone I think the best place in town is the Mongolian Buffet & Grill. They also offer a "Frequent Reward Card" where you can get a punch for every 10 dollars spent. After 6 punches your next meal is FREE. If you haven't given this place a try yet... stop on by and try it and see what YOU think.

We needed a big lunch before our trip back to Chicago. There weren't many restaurants open on Memorial Day, but we were in the shopping center and saw a lit OPEN sign. I was skeptical. I don't do buffets because there are maybe one or two options (which tend to be side dishes). I kept an open mind along with an open stomach. They were only serving dinner that day. The cost per person? $9.99 with drinks being $1 (with free refills). At the time of this review, they offer a free drink if you check-in via Facebook. The dinner included crab legs (which you should eat because those fishermen on Deadliest Catch risk their lives to harvest them). The selection was good. Asides from the standard Chinese dishes, they had a few American dishes like mozzarella sticks, fried chicken, baked salmon, and so forth. There was even a full salad bar. As for vegetarian options, there were not many at all. This was to be expected. There was vegetable lo-mein, vegetable egg rolls, egg drop soup, and vegetable stir-fry. Fortunately, the lo-mein was satisfying and filling enough. Was it worth $9.99? Of course not, but I knew that I wouldn't be. I *liked* Mongolian Buffet. The prices are reasonable (lunch is $6.49), but may be on the higher side for this area. The quality is acceptable. For those with families and friends, Mongolian Buffet is (more than) large enough to accommodate them.

Its a place to eat near a TJ Maxx, a smokeshop, MC Sporting Goods, and a Gander Mountain. Hairdresser, Verizon Wireless store etc. As far as Chinese buffets go its pretty solid, especially since they have the additional option to have a plate of food "grilled". If you're super hungry, you can be eating within minutes, because its a buffet. Sometimes I get Super Hungry. The place definitely has good days and not so good days. Sometimes if its not real busy the food will get dried out sitting in the pans, this is not typical though. Usually there are enough people eating to keep the food rotating. Not often talked about at Chinese Buffets, salad bars. This one is pretty good, lots of fruit (probably canned), cottage cheese, shredded cheese, seeds, etc Pretty nice if you can free yourself from the cholesterol clutches of the fried food. Peanut butter chicken (a little too sweet) and sesame chicken are good. The General Tso's is pretty much the sesame chicken, with a few chili peppers and no sesame seeds. Sugar buns are tasty, beef and broccoli are good. Crab rangoon are typically light and soft. Chop sticks are available. The wonton soup is typical, and I tend to steer clear of their american fare, though the fried chicken can be good, they also offer up mac and cheese and some form of potato. The mini-Mongolian is a bonus, spices, meats and vegetables are what you would typically expect at other "mongolian" style grills, without the panache. Ice cream machine . yes. Dinner is about 11 dollars, lunch is cheaper. So its certainly reasonable enough. I usually drink the complimentary tea or water. I think soft drinks are 99 cents extra. Be sure to get your punch card - 6 punches and the next meal is free. Crab legs would be about the only difference between lunch and dinner as far as I can tell. The Waitstaff is quick and will frequently check on you. Although I have noticed some untidiness recently, the place could use a good steam cleaning, walls, booths and all. Bathrooms?

Someone recently wrote that this restaurant didn't have much in the way of vegetarian options. Well, I wanted to point out that they do have a "grill" section where you can choose your own uncooked food, including lots of veggies, and have them cooked to order while you wait. This is one of the features that brings me back here. In addition to the veggies they have chicken, pork, seafood (scallops and shrimp) and even steak. There are the sauces and seasonings I like, such as curry and chili sauces to spice things up, and the results are totally unlike the fare that comes from the steam tables. As a buffet this one holds its own with any others I've had. It's best close to main mealtimes when the place is crowded and the food is being refilled frequently. Very clean restaurant too, including the restrooms.

I was not expecting to give this restaurant four stars. I had only heard so-so reviews since it opened. I have come away pleasantly surprised. As others have noted they have a decent chinese and american buffet. The food was fresh and clean. When we went there were only a few customers there. The real treat was the grilling area. While it doesn't have the ambiance of Benihanas (nor the price) or the entertainment of BD's, it does offer a SOLID selection of fresh meats, fish, pork and chicken along with veggies spices and sauces. They will crack an egg and grill it all up for you. Personally I skip the buffet to go to this part. The kids loved the buffet section. It's quick and you get a little of everything you want. Plus the price is 65 cents times their age which is pretty affordable. I put it in the moderate pay section as it does hit the $11 a person mark. But you can do lunch for around $8. If I could offer any improvement ideas I would do the following: 1. Add more toppings to the ice cream section. Currently they have one thing...sprinkles. Pretty lame. 2. Have a favorites contest for recipes in the grill section. Post some of the best "recipes". I know its a copy of BD's but it's still cool.
